I am pretty desperate for a rear cylinder for my veteran Douglas 1917 2 3/4hp "W" model.   I there is anyone who may have one of these that can be re-sleeved or know where I may find one I would be very pleased for the help.  I have a number of engine parts that I can exchange such as matching crankcases, conrods, crankshaft, flywheel etc. Any help appreciated.

Does anyone have the specifications for the oil inlet valve spring for early 2 3/4 engines - Part number 424.   I have tried to order one from the club spares but apparently Jeff Swan is indisposed at the moment.

                         Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

My name is Oliver Landinger and i am from Munich/Germany.

I have a Douglas 500 from around 1927.
It was own since the mid sixties by my Dad.

I would like to know more details about this motorcycle.
(For any reason we didn´t talk much about this Douglas when my Dad was alive...,
i inherited the bike after my Dad passed away).

I have some pics even from the time my Dad got this bike.
At this pics it looks like a dirt track/speedway motorcycle.
At the 90´s a friend of my Dad got this bike to take care and i guess he restored it
The Douglas looks now like a street racing bike and the friend used it for some historic street racing events so far i know.
Even this friend died already...so...i can´t ask this friend anymore tooo for more information.

I took some pics from the actuall bike...even with the frame and gearbox number.

I would kindly ask for someone who can help me to find out more about the original name and type of this Douglas.

Glady here at this forum or through private e-mail.

Many thanks in advance...

                                                       Kindly,

                                                               Oliver Landinger

Hello Oliver and welcome to the forum. If you are able to post some photos of the bike including the serial numbers, it would really help others identify it for you. For information on attaching photos to your posts, please see Add a Photo or File to your Post.
