I am pretty desperate for a rear cylinder for my veteran Douglas 1917 2 3/4hp "W" model.   I there is anyone who may have one of these that can be re-sleeved or know where I may find one I would be very pleased for the help.  I have a number of engine parts that I can exchange such as matching crankcases, conrods, crankshaft, flywheel etc. Any help appreciated.

Does anyone have the specifications for the oil inlet valve spring for early 2 3/4 engines - Part number 424.   I have tried to order one from the club spares but apparently Jeff Swan is indisposed at the moment.

My bike has the oil pump mounted on the tank. I am told that the pump needs three leather washers, but as mine had disintegrated, I am scratching my head as to where they go in relation to the drum-shaped 'piston' which threads onto the plunger shaft. Also, that piston has different diameters at the ends -which way faces downwards? Thanks

Doug

This post will give you the arrangement of the leather cup washers.

The washers themselves are available to club members via the London Douglas Motor Cycle Club, or you can sometimes source them on the internet from outfits that supply old farm type water pumps. Though most of the latter only stock the larger sizes these days (1.5 inch and up).
