Mk series Head Gaskets

Gents,

Just received new head gaskets from the Club, on fitting should I apply a light grease coat or fit dry?

Fit them dry - then check the head nuts regularly until the gaskets stop bedding down. The modern non-asbestos gaskets seem to squeeze down more than the original gaskets - often resulting in premature gasket failure. Applying a coat of Coppaslip to the stud threads also helps.
