I saw the add of the perol tank on this site, an maybe i am interested.

I have a 1912 one and the tank is rotten out, and i think the tank you have will suite my doug.

Is there a possibility that we trade the part for other parts? I have a few douglas items for the 2 3/4 model as well as the t 35.

Can anyone tell me which year or model this tank is from ?
It has a small oil fill cap and is narrower than the tank on my TS.

I am by no means an expert on these early models, but looking at the catalog images and spares list, here is my stab at it.

No earlier than 1912, the 1911 and prior tanks have distinctly different shapes (different frame.)  Three painted panels ran through to about 1915, and then they went to two.  I have seen a picture captioned as a 1914, and the filler opening for the front compartment is as large as that for the rear.  According to the spares list this changed in 1913, not 1914.  In 1915 or 16, the petrol cap moves over to the right hand side.  In 1912, there are clamps that go around the frame tube to hold the tank.  The screws that clamp also pass through into the tank, so the screw holes closely straddle the frame tube.  Pictures of a 1913 show a brazed bracket that the tank is suspended from.  These visibly have the mounting screws placed much further apart either side of the frame tube.  So my guess is that this is a circa 1912 petrol tank.  Any other opinions?
