I am pretty desperate for a rear cylinder for my veteran Douglas 1917 2 3/4hp "W" model.   I there is anyone who may have one of these that can be re-sleeved or know where I may find one I would be very pleased for the help.  I have a number of engine parts that I can exchange such as matching crankcases, conrods, crankshaft, flywheel etc. Any help appreciated.

Does anyone have the specifications for the oil inlet valve spring for early 2 3/4 engines - Part number 424.   I have tried to order one from the club spares but apparently Jeff Swan is indisposed at the moment.

G'day all
A good few years ago now I bought a job lot of early motorcycle posters at Beaulieu Autojumble whilst over on holidays, a couple are for Douglas.
Here they are.

Thanks Howard, these are great.

Something that's always intrigued me is the names of the events in those days - eg on the first poster above it mentions "600cc Scratch". Do you know exactly what a "Scratch" race was?

On this page of my Dad's racing results, there's a few of these terms - Scramble, Grand National, Grand Prix, All Powers Scratch, All Powers Handicap, Solo Handicap and so forth.

Do you know what kind of events the "Grand National" and the "Grand Prix" were?
