I'm not expert on the veteran 2 3/4, but if I get it wrong someone will say!
Yes the cylinders will interchange. It's common to see veteran engines like the 1913 with 1920s cylinders. The early cylinders have very few fins, particularly around the inlet ports. Also the early ones have a priming cup on top (as it sits in the frame) of each cylinder, to add a bit of paraffin (kerosene) or petrol to free up gummy oil before starting in the morning.
The timing gears on the early motors are narrower than those in the later models.
