Tom,

The A31/A32 were fitted with 25x3" beaded edge tyres. The rims can be found at autojumbles, as they were used on the late 2-3/4hp models and EW series. The problem is the tyres have not been available for decades. If you serch this site, you will find numerous posts on alternative tyres, but if you do not have any rims then you should consider lacing in a rim size which you can readily purchase current tyres for.

It would help to know more particulars as to why you want engine and frame drawings. In the case of the frame, it will certainly mean someone taking a lot of time to measure up an existing frame. If you are carrying out repairs, then this could limit the scope of the drawing project to something more reasonable.

Tom,

That does narrow the scope significantly! Basically, there are a pair of posts that attach to the frame to space the footrests out to either side at the lug at the bottom of the saddle tube. A long bolt through all clamps everything together. The rear brake pedal pivots on one of these posts, as well as the centerstand. I may be able to help with drawings of the footrest components as I did have to replicate these items for my A31. The originals were too worn and rusty to salvage. Where the posts attach to the frame, there is a shallow key slot. This is often damaged because the footrest bolt is not kept tight. Also, the centerstand puts a considerable bending load on the posts, stretching the bolt, and causing it to gradually become slack. I will look for some drawings and post a picture of the relevant area of my A31 frame this evening. My A31does not have the engine or transmission fitted, so it should be clear to see the arrangement.

Hi Tom

I have an A32 Douglas which I finished rebuilding in 2009. The oil and petrol filler caps are a bayonet fitting and are from MK 1 Ausin Mini spares, originally made by Wilmot-Breeden in UK. These are still available, I think, from specialist suppliers. Attached are some photos of my A 32. Good luck with the rebuild.

Kind Regards

Paul

Tom,

It seems that I never attached the footrest posts to the frame, so do not have a photo. But I did find the drawings for the footrest posts, tidied them up, and and can email them to you.
