Rear Carrier 1924
« on: 04 Apr 2010 at 12:58 »
I'm about to ask a local engineer to build me a rear carrier for my 1924 ts project, as I don't have one.
Does anyone have any drawings or specs to save me the trouble? I'm lazy!!
OR,  does anyone have one spare I can buy?

Thank you Martin for posting that drawing of the carrier.

Does anyone have a drawing of the 1924 TS rear fork that runs from the top of the seat post to the lug that carries the rear wheel please, as I am missing  this and need to make one. I believe that the tube is D shaped rather than round, is that correct.

Thanks
Marcus

It was a bit of a tedious job, but when I needed some 'D' section tube, I used a sheet metal jenny with one flat roller and one half round roller, and gradually rolled round tube down to 'D' section. A bit of trial and error was needed to work out which size of tube would produce the required section. The big problem is keeping the tube straight while rolling it.
