Mk5 Centrestand
« on: 06 Jun 2023 at 19:47 »
Hi All,

How do I remove the long bolt holding the centrestand in place ? It comes out halfway but frame is in way of pulling it out further!
Thanks!

Hi Phil,
You may have to cut the head off, and then replace the bolt and nut with a stud and 2 nuts. The 2 stand lugs are brazed to the frame cross tube - which gets wrung by repeated attempts to start the bike while still on the stand. If you have the bike dismantled, it may be possible to heat the outer ends of the cross tube and twist it back to it's original position.

  Regards,
               Eddie.
