Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

I have to find exaust pipes and silencers for a 80+.
I have looked at Armours.
They offer only ex pipes for Marks and Dragonfly.
Do the Dragonfly pipes also work for the Plus cylinderheads?

Has someone tried this or have an other idea?

Hi Michael
The club has in the past had made small batches of plus pipe's, it may be worth a try to see if any are still in stock.

I fitted a pair of replica 'Dragonfly' pipes to my Plus. They came from Feked.com. The collars seemed to be a bit thicker than required but  otherwise they seem fine.

Dragonfly pipes are quite a bit shorter than Plus/Mark pipes.

I recently had some pipes and a silencer made up to my pattern by Armours in stainless steel. They were very helpful in my view the price was very reasonable and the finished product was very good. Might be worth having a word with them.

That's interesting to hear Roy, thanks.  Club spares has just one Mk3 Sports pipe in stock and I'd be keen to expand this.
I'll have a chat with our Buyer and point him in the direction of Armors to start a dialogue!

FWIW I believe that a well known member recently restored a 90 Plus and I'm trying to track down what pipes he used to let Michael know.

All the best,

David

I am also interesting 90+ pipes and silencers, if there are coming some orders, or to club spares.

Thanks to all for the informations about the ex pipes /silencers.
I will use the "Dragonfly" ex pipes from Armours. These pipes are long enough for use on Plus models.

As previously stated - Dragonfly pipes are shorter than 'Plus' pipes (by just over 3"), so the silencer barrels are likely to foul the rear suspension operating arms.

I'd be interested in some plus pipes too, stainless sounds like a good option. Perhaps a few people could pool together to get a batch made for our projects with some for club spares to stock too?

DJS

I'm very happy to look at this for club members and see if we can get a batch made. Eddie has kindly supplied some very useful information.

As always, the larger the batch we have made the lower the price will be.

Could I ask that if any LDMCC members are interested in Plus/Mark/Dragonfly pipes they PM me their interests please?

I am aware that Feked and Armours have stocks of some post war exhaust systems but am more than happy to see what sort of price we could provide these to members at.

All the best,

David
