Primary chains
« on: 05 Dec 2022 at 10:36 »
Hi does anybody know where I can get hold of a 5/8" pitch 1/2" wide roller chain to fit my Model Z as this doesn't seem to be a standard size.

According to the 1935 publicity sheet for the model Z, the correct chain sizes are: rear 5/8" x 1/4" and front 1/2" x 5/16". Those are certainly the sizes used on earlier (S6) models.

Thanks Eddie someone has already increased the rear to 5/8 x 3/8, possibly as its easier to get a sprocket plate of that size,  and both gearbox and wheel sprockets are in good useable condition. I'll have to look again at the front clutch to g/box chain.
