Problem of fitting front wheel 80+ in fork
« on: 26 Nov 2022 at 08:24 »
I have the problem to get the front wheel in the front fork links.
There is too less space to get also the facing plate of the R.H. mudguard holder between the fork links.
May be the assembly of the hub / bearing parts are wrong?
The shell bearing for the mudguard stay plate is fixed on the hollow spindle.

I hope someone have a spares drawing of the Plus hub or can give advise.

Michael

Hi Michael
It is difficult to tell from the photo but are you sure you have the correct front forks/lower link for a plus,  the lower link should be machined away on the inside at the point of contact with the shell bearing in your picture if you run your finger along the link you should be able to feel the depression on the link ribs top and bottom.
Best wishes
Len.

Hello Len,

thanks for the reply.
I will have a look to the link. There is now missing a space around 3mm for fitting the facing between the fork links.

When I got the bike, it was rough put together and the front wheel was very tight in the fork; the top bridge with loose srews.
May be the hub assembly is wrong or your idea , the fork link is a standard MK one?
