Just joined forum
« on: 12 Jun 2022 at 06:14 »
Hi all,
My name is David (Otto is my user name) I have just joined the forum. I have bought a1924 Douglas TS project, I live in Wollondilly NSW and am looking forward to getting stuck into the bike. This will be my first flat tank motorcycle. I have restored a few 50s, 60s & 70s motorcycle but know this will be a lot different. Will appreciate any advice  offered to me regarding the above.
Regards,
David (Otto)

Hi David,
It will be fun! Not to scare you off too early, but if you're new to Douglas here's some important guff re the threads on the bike: https://www.douglasmotorcycles.net/index.php?topic=1102.0
Worth keeping any fasteners that can re re-used!

G'day David,
welcome to Douglas ownership and forum.
I'm also in the Dilly, and have a 1924 TS. Like you, it was a new era for me (my great leap "backwards") not having owned or restored anything of that vintage before. Hence discovering this forum and the wealth of information/expertise is nothing short of astounding.
Regards
bryan

Hi Bryan,
Looking forward to the restoration and one day riding it! we live in a great area for motorcycle riding. Might take me a while to learn to navigate the forum but can already see there's so much information. Hope to catch up one day and have a talk about the bikes.
Regards,
David
