Much loved restored 1954 Douglas Mk 5
« on: 15 Mar 2022 at 18:56 »
SOLD

Douglas Mk5 350cc, registered 8th January 1954, owned by my dad since 18th October 1961, yes that's over 60 years with one owner. Between 1961-1976 had full bare metal restoration. Resprayed twice, first was the wrong colour so resprayed to correct. 256 miles since full rebuild. Last ridden 3.5 years ago due to my dad's shoulder injury. A few details of the restoration: crank shaft reground and balanced, new main bearings, new big ends and small ends, rebored, new pistons and rings, new valves, springs and guides and clutch. New cables, primary chain, exhaust, brake linings, wheel bearings, dynamo and magneto services, wheels rebuilt and resprayed. Loads of photos but here are a few taken autumn 2021. This is much loved member of the family and I hope he finds a nice new home  8)

Hello. Is the Douglas 350 motorbike you have put the photo's on the Forum for sale and if so do you have a price in mind?
Thank you. Richard Mabbott

Hi Richard. My apologies, I forgot to put that bit on. My dad is asking £4,000. he also has several spare parts and a catalouge of images he can share with the bike too.

I am very interested in this bike. Would it be possible to come and view it in person at your convenience. Thank you.

Hi Richard. Do you have a number I can pass on to my dad and he can call you to arrange for you to come and have a look at the bike? Best wishes, Jess

Hi Richard - please excuse the delay in replying, my phone won't allow me to reply to your messages so I've had to wait to get home to reply to you. I have managed to speak to my dad this morning and given him your number. He said he will call you today, if he hasn't already. His name is Peter Biggs. My dad doesn't have a mobile so I will share mine with you in case you need anything ... (removed for privacy and security).... I hope the viewing goes well!
