Evening all. Has anyone got a rear hub for an OC or DT/SW5 they would like to sell. I require one for finishing my bike. Cheers Chris.

Chris,

The DT hub is much wider than the OC or SW5, so you don't want that if building a road bike with a brake drum. The OC & SW5 used the standard hub as per the 600EW, S6 and derivatives, the mid-thirties heavyweight models, and the Aero models. It was also used on the lightweight models from 1931 onward (and some earlier than that). So quite a few potential donors.

Leon,

Almost. The CW (and the OB) had a narrow conical spline since it only mounted a sprocket. When Douglas switched to a brake drum for the 1926 big twins they made the conical spline half again wider. And that was the design they carried one with to 1938.
