Does anyone have the specifications for the oil inlet valve spring for early 2 3/4 engines - Part number 424.   I have tried to order one from the club spares but apparently Jeff Swan is indisposed at the moment.

Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

petroltank
mudguards front and rear
handlebar
carrier

DJS

I'm pretty sure that I have a drawing for a rear carrier if you want to make one or have one made. Let me know if you'd like it and I'll dig it out and post it here.

With regards to mudguards Vintage Steel Fenders of Australia (www.vintagesteelfenders.com) specifically list TS 24 mudguards.

All the best,

David

Hello,

David very generously put up the drawing for the carrier and I just wonder if anyone has a drawing for the rear fork which runs from the top of the seat post down to the lug for the rear spindle. Mine is missing and I need to make a new one. I understand that these used a D section tube, just to make life a little more interesting.

Many Thanks

Marcus

Hi Marcus,
If you haven't had any response to your request for drawing of rear TS subframe, let me know. I do have one which is only suitable to use as a pattern for replication.
we'd need to make some form of arrangement to loan it to you, as i dont want to sell it.

Hi Bryan,

Thank you very much for that offer. I am currently traveling down to the Motorcycle Museum in Invercargill where they have a 1924 TS so I will be taking lots of photos and measurements so I hope that will give me everything I need. I will also be seeing a guy on the way down who has a restored TS so that will give me information as well.

However if that doesn't work out I may come back to you, the only problem is shipping it across the Tasman and back again, but lets see.

Kind Regards

Marcus

How long has the TS been in Motorcycle mecca?I went there a year ago and they had a 1914 with later parts,
a 1925 CW and a 1927 DT5.

Marcus

Hi Gerald,
I haven't seen it yet so I'm not sure, but this is what is listed:

This 1926 TS was acquired for the Nelson-based NZ Classic Motorcycles collection via an auction in New Zealand in July, 2008. It was acquired by Classic Motorcycle Mecca in May 2016.

Lets see what I find next week.

Hi Marcus.
When I went there I was a complete novice in Douglas identification and was looking at doing a 1912 from a half frame and half a motor I had .The plate on the front mudguard says 1914 so that is what I was going on.
I turned down a set of forks because they were different to the ones at Invercargill. Turns out they would have been right.
PM sent about a frame that might suit you.
