crankshaft nut
« on: 21 Apr 2021 at 13:39 »
Hi looking for help again with my Model Z restoration. Reassembling the crankcase all was going well till I found that the crankshaft pinion nut is missing. Having checked the thread is 5/8" x 20tpi which appears to be a non standard size has anybody any experience of trying to source a replacement for that nut.

Chris,
Try LDMCC postwar spares - the nut for a Mark rear wheel spindle is 5/8" x 20 tpi.

  Regards,
                 Eddie.

20 Threads per inch is Coarse Cycle Thread.

As against 26 tpi, which is Cycle Thread in (mostly) smaller sizes.

Thanks for the help, I'd forgotten all about the larger BSCY threads, so used to using the smaller 26 tpi sizes. Found a supplier around 1.20 each

Thanks again
Chris
