Does anyone have the specifications for the oil inlet valve spring for early 2 3/4 engines - Part number 424.   I have tried to order one from the club spares but apparently Jeff Swan is indisposed at the moment.

Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

Hi looking for help again with my Model Z restoration. Reassembling the crankcase all was going well till I found that the crankshaft pinion nut is missing. Having checked the thread is 5/8" x 20tpi which appears to be a non standard size has anybody any experience of trying to source a replacement for that nut.

Chris,
Try LDMCC postwar spares - the nut for a Mark rear wheel spindle is 5/8" x 20 tpi.

  Regards,
                 Eddie.

20 Threads per inch is Coarse Cycle Thread.

As against 26 tpi, which is Cycle Thread in (mostly) smaller sizes.

Thanks for the help, I'd forgotten all about the larger BSCY threads, so used to using the smaller 26 tpi sizes. Found a supplier around £1.20 each

Thanks again
Chris
