When I first insured my Dragonfly I was surprised by the number of on-line companies which don't include Douglas, let alone Dragonfly, in their list of bikes. In the end I found Bikesure who recognise the name Douglas and gave me a reasonable quote, which decreased on renewal. Whether they are good or not I can't say, fortunately I haven't had to find out. I don't find their website especially easy to cope with, or their incredible 10 digit password consisting of upper and lower case letters, numbers and symbols. I couldn't possibly remember that so I write the password on my document, rather defeating the object I would think.
After the problems getting the engine to run, without whining noises, the fact that you are thinking of insurance is very encouraging. The bike must be almost ready for the road.

I have used Peter James Insurance for many years. They specialise in classic bike and car insurance. Currently I have 4 Douglas bikes with them all on the same policy, all on agreed values and with both myself and my son to ride. Cost £215. The clubs' bikes are also insured with Peter James.

I've used Peter James and Footman James for my modern and classics without problems but the last 2 years have been with RH Insurance.  All of these have real people to talk to (rather than just a web form) which is useful when you have around a dozen bikes of various ages to go through.

Carol Nash used to be "the go to" brokers but has gone downhill since being sold 10 (?) years ago and now is just as bad as the rest.  You will have to spell Douglas for them.  Moto Guzzi and Moto Morini seemed impossible!

I would go with the first suggestion Haggerty
No on line silly web site selecting the bike and entering replys .Haggerty  will insure anything with wheels and you get to talk to a person who knows not a call center and you get Kop hill insurance for free

Went with bikesure in the end I got a very good quote with no hassle cheaper than most but with zero excess and free legal assistance as standard.
Proof will be if I ever have to claim.
