engine and gearbox numbers

Hi I have recently acquired a hoard of 30's Douglas 600 parts including 2 complete engines, 4 different gearboxes, 5 pancake dynamos, a number of different magnetos and 3 clutches. Is there any listing I could look at to at least identify what the engines and gearboxes are and what model of machine they were originally fitted too.

Any advice would help

Oh I will be selling most of the bits once I've sorted out what I can utilize on my Model Z project bike but not for a bit though.

Sorry Doug but can't help with your Greyhound mores the pity. My numbers are EQ1677 and EQ981 and the two complete gearboxes are WG/T2161 and the only numbers on the other one is I/419. The gearboxes have the same body and operation type but different kickstart ends, ones been damaged and badly repaired. I've attached a picture of I/419.

I/419 would be from a 1934 250cc (1935 Comet). The cases might look the same but Douglas had a habit from when that gearbox design was introduced on the EW models of making the mountings of the lightweights closer together than the heavyweight models. Also the main shaft on the heavyweights was longer to reach out further to the primary chain line of the bigger engine, though a lot of other bits of the transmission were shared between the 350 & 600. At some point in the thirties I think they might have started making the frame mountings the same, but not certain (or when).
