Dragonfly engine spacers

Hi,
Help please,the front engine spacers on my 1957 350 Dragonfly are different sizes,a long one and a short one,I have assembled them as shown in the parts book with the long one on the offside but when bolted up the engine seems to be too far to the near side,in fact the engine is touching the frame at that side,it looks like the spacers should be the other way around.
Does anyone know the correct way.

I had no spacers in my MK frame just a loose assortment of old washers when I fit the engine back in I shall align the engine sprocket with the rear sprocket and ensure that the whole engine is in line with that datum then with a vernier I will measure the distances and get a length of 1" alloy bar and my lathe
Its the chain line that matters.
