MAGNETO GEAR

G'day Fellow Douglas Owners,
as a new comer and a new owner of 2 Douglas motorcycles 1924 TS and 1925 (?), may i ask you to be gentle? And while at it, many thanks to Ian in Oakdale for his sage advice-i was gobsmacked to learn a fellow owner was in the next village down here in OZ. I have been astounded at the information on this site, thanks to all of you and our shared passion.

My question is: can anyone kindly tell me the number of teeth on an EIC magneto gear for my TS? I am looking to buy an EIC 180 degree magneto, "A2" model, but just need to confirm how many teeth the mag drive gear should have.

I have a '25 CW and it uses an EIC magneto which I believe utilises the same gear train hence should be the same as the TS. My drive gear has 50 teeth.
This magneto has M2 stamped into the right side mounting lug and M23109 on the left side so I trust this may be helpful.

You can doublecheck this number is correct for you.
Count the teeth on the gear that drives your maggy gear.
Obviously it has to correspond with some relationship to those 50 teeth.
