On the near side my Dragonfly has a 1.4mm spacer (6 in plate 22 of the spare parts catalogue) followed by a nut, then the exhaust pipe clamp and a second nut.
On the off side the exhaust pipe clamp is under the head of the bolt followed by a 2.1mm spacer (5 on plate 22).
I've attached a couple of photographs, I should have cleaned the engine first.

Hi, Just checked the spacers on my 'Fly - they are 14mm on the nearside and 21mm on the offside. Wasn't it good in the old days when our bikes were built and everything was imperial (9/16" and 13/16") - you couldn't get it wrong by misplacing the decimal point!

   Eddie.

Thank you, that's more embarrassing than revealing the grubby state of the engine.

I recall a letter to the local rag, when things were first being metrified, or is that metrificated.

Local put out a note with the milk bottles, asking for 1136 ml of milk
In the morning, nothing.
Another note, asking where is the milk, thats 2 pints.
Answer with the milk, "I didn't know how much that was".

With Brexit, will cows go back to producing pints ?
And yet engines have been in cc for many a century.
With horsepowers coming a close second for a while there...

We may have strayed here, a little..
