Dragonfly Ignition query
« on: 11 Sep 2019 at 12:59 »
Hi All,
Have a query about Dfly ignition. Just done check on ign. as I have had occasional problem re. starting when engine is hot. No current flowing to ignition at all.  This then led to check of plugs when current returned, and found that spark at plugs was very weak, as was spark at points.  Am still on standard ignition. ie. 6volt, points, etc.  Could both problems be related,  or is weak spark the norm for coil ignition on Fly.  When running  no problems are apparent.

  Suggestions appreciated.  Dave.

Forgot to mention. Bike runs well in first three gears, (50-55mph in third) but when engaging top gear it's as though a brake has been applied, and all power is lost, and bike slows rapidly.  (Ignition timing ? )   Must add, the bike isn't new to me. I've had it and used it for almost 50 years, but this has got me stumped !!!
