Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

Hi

New to the forum so be gentle with me....

Just purchased my first British bike (1948 T35)....runs, but let's just say it's in "Un-restored" condition rather than concourse....went out for first ride on it today (interesting to say the least). Got a real wobble on initial acceleration but once going seems to ride very well indeed. Gear change is going to get some getting used to (hope I don't trash the box whilst getting used to right foot 1 up and the rest down?)...bit notchy but overall I'm really pleased with it

Grandfather did his apprenticeship at Douglas in the early 30's before joining the Navy, so got a bit of family history that mean't that I've been after one for a while..... He also used to rides trials competitions and moto-football for them

No doubt loads of questions.....I'm not particularly mechanically minded so I'll apologise in advance for all the questions that may seem ridiculously basic to some of you..... as I said please be gentle with me

Cheers

Eric S

Welcome to the forum and also the club. If you can get along to the meeting of the Bristol Section this Wednesday evening at the Kingswood Heritage Museum I am sure the answers to your questions will be forthcoming. Look forward to meeting up with you then.
Reg.

Reg,

Thank you to you and all the guys (and girl) who made me feel so welcome at last night's meeting, definitely livelier than I expected and an immense pleasure to meet such knowledgeable characters; A great introduction to the Douglas community and I'll definitely be coming back for more  :)

Kindest Regards
Perry
