EW Kickstart Buffers
« on: 14 Sep 2018 at 13:13 »
Hi
I have rebuilt my EW gearbox, whilst trying to cure a return problem with the kick starter I checked the parts book.
Listed are two buffers
7763 large buffer
7764 small buffer
I assume they are rubber sleeves which go on the 1/4" bolt which acts as the spring anchor and the other on the case fixing stud
which is above and in line with the quadrant.
Can anyone confirm this or put me right, also can anybody supply me with the dimensions  and which one fits where.
If i'm correct could I just sleeve with rubber hose.
Listed in the gear case group below the kick start cover there is Thrust washer part number 9239 where does this fit ? again the size would help
Hope someone can help
Keith

Hello Keith
I used a piece of thick walled rubber tube with a short length of steel tube over that, on my T6 and had no problems.  It did the job well.

Cheers  Richard
