Yes Graeme, The Models up to circa 1923 did not have a spring leaf forward from the seat pan to the top bar. The seat was mounted in the upright bar pushbike style. The carrier may be right as the Tool boxes on WD models were much longer would you believe to carry a spare tyre. Can not see recent available tyres fitting in box though. It worries me when I see unrestored Dougs hitting these sale prices.
