for what it is worth, Daren, my 1927 600 has the same exhaust arrangement as yours (see photo) whilst the 1928 parts list shows the second type

Thanks what engine number is yours I bought it on Ebay Australia all my other engines have the later type Daren

My engine number is EH337 - I'm unsure whether it is original to the bike but I think it is about right. Photo of whole machine attached for the sake of it!
