Im restoring a 1930 H3.
I bought the bike with most parts of the engine missing (engine cracked in the early 1950s, the bike was then put in a shed).

Unfortunately also the exaust is not with the bike, except the Fishtail end.

I would be happy, if someone can help with any information about exausts for this bike or similar of the older 350ties. It seems so, the models have still the same cylinders and exaust ring nuts + pipes.

May be there are also drawing for it.

If someone can sell a used exaustsystem or a remake I will be very happy.

I have allready ask at LDMMC spares, Dick can only help with the nuts.

Michael,

I pulled my EW blind head cylinders (c1926-27) and A31 (1931) cylinder heads out of storage and measured them. They have the same cylinder port angles, so there is a good chance the 350cc models in between also have the same angles. They both also have 1-5/8 x 20 threads for the exhaust ports.

Doug,

thanks for the informations and the PM!

I still hope someone will sell a used pipe /silencer or a reproduction set.

I think my H3 was original fitted with the "old type" system with detachable fishtail endpiece, like some B29 on pictures.

Hello, I`ve used A44 Exhausts on the Bromyard road out of Worcester. They can make all parts of an exhaust.I have used them to make exhausts for classic cars I have restored.Len

Hello Michael
I have both exhaust pipes and nuts which I think are right for your Douglas.

If you email me I should be able to send some photos and measurements.

Regards
         Richard

Hello Richard,

thanks to you for sending me the set of pipes!

May be someone of the forum will find a used silencer to fit these pipes? Chrome / nickel finish could be bad.
Im still hoping for that.

Michael
