volute springs on brake cables
« on: 16 Sep 2017 at 21:52 »
Hello everyone. How does one fit the volute spring on the end of the brake cables used on post-war Douglas machines, please?I have only attempted the front item so far,and the problem may be that it has a barrel type nipple, whereas the rear one has a ball shape.Thanks,Ken.

Hi Ken,
try to put the brake cable under the thge open middle part of the volute spring and turn the volute sevral times, until the cable is inside the volute!
So you donīt have to unsolder the nippel.
