Paint
« on: 04 Aug 2017 at 17:38 »
Hi Douglas friends, am looking for Mark v blue spray paint, and not sure if metallic or from memory a flat colour is the way to go? Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Phil 1 .

Not a lot of polycromatic blue around nowadays!

Hi Phil

Attached is a copy of the invoice from my local paint supplier for the paint I used on my Mark 5. Also attached is a photo of the bike. I was pleased with the colour match, although other members may have other ideas.

Hi Phil

Once you have found a paint supplier to supply the base colour coat, use the company detailed in the attached pdf for all your other needs, lacquer, primer masking tape, tack rags etc. Good quality products at a sensible price. The standard lacquer they provide is petrol resistant up to a point - OK for for everything apart from the petrol tank, but they do a more expensive lacquer which is petrol proof. This is shown on the invoice as PRO XL Pro Clear Lacquer at £8.99.
