That's the one. It looks to be a fancy guard protecting the carbs. What is puzzling is all that conglomeration on top of the the timing cover. There's cables all over the place-possibly some control to an oil pump.

Yes I think I can spot a mechanical oil pump on the outside of the timing chest. Perhaps there is something wrapped around the magneto to keep it dry? Sure looks messy!
