Misfire at high speed on mk 1
« on: 27 Jun 2005 at 14:16 »
had an interesting problem with a mk 1 engine running a mn1 magdyno
could not get engine to run properly after checking carbies etc
what i found was the points and drive fitted seem to be from something else
i have pictures as i was so baffled i pulled out my points as my bike was running well and compared the two have a look at where the keyways are placed on both units the one on the left is the correct one for a mk douglas
and the shoe size is smaller
life lesson number 1 not everything u get on your bike is origanal lol

Hi trev,
It looks as if you have one points assy from a Lucas mag and the other  from a BTH.
                       regards,
                                       Eddie.
