the Douglas my 99 year old Dad might have riden
« on: 21 Oct 2016 at 22:11 »

hi folks: I'm not a motor bike person, but my Dad (turns 100 next July) regaled me a story about riding a Douglas in Sydney NSW in the mid 1930s - all he can remember is that it was belt driven and had no clutch - any thoughts on what model it might have been?
thanks in advance

Hi Peter

It is highly likely that your dad rode a 2 3/4hp Douglas TS model, 2 speed gearbox, no clutch and belt drive. If you look at the pictures section of the site here you will see many examples of this type of machine. They sold very well in Australia and there are still many of them in existence now.

Cheers, Graeme
