Mark V Kick Stand spring location
« on: 18 Aug 2016 at 17:58 »
Spurred on by my success with the brake drum, Ive turned my attention to the kick Stand.

I can see the spring location on the Kick stand, but two questions

(I) Where does the other end of the spring locate to - The battery carrier bolt ?
(ii) How long does the spring need to be (Un-stretched) - I measure it at about 6" to the battery carrier bolt (with the stand down) ?

Thanks in advance to all the knowledgeable Mark V owners out there.

Steve

Steve,

The spring should locate on a tab welded to the battery carrier, not very secure! If you can contrive a fixing using one of the bottom mounting bolts it will perform reliably. The springs are available from the club spares scheme. All the best.

Thanks Giz,

That makes a bit more sense than what I was thinking of!

I hadnt put the battery carrier on yet, so hadn't appreciated that subtlety.
