Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

Electronic Ignition for a 1951 Mark V

I have recently returned my Mark V to the road following 40 plus year of storage and am in the process of coming to terms with its foibles.   I suspect that my principal problem lies with the Magdyno as it is unreliable.   Should I have it completely refurbished as original or introduce electronic ignition?   I would be interested to hear of members experience and advice.   Of the manufacturers offering this facility I feel most comfortable with "Thorspark" as it actually illustrates the very Magdyno on the bike and I understand that the ignition kit is contained completely within the magneto end cap.
However, if I am going to take this route, I want to make sure that it is the best option available.

I fitted this system to my Mk5 and it works very well.It is easy to fit with no modifications needed[slight mod to plastic end cap for wire to exit]and you need to make a bracket to mount the coil. This system retains the manual adv/retard.
