Working on MkIII Sports, trouble with carbs. Should there be a washer between the top feed union and the float chamber top? Can't remember ever seeing one there, but I presume it would change the float height slightly?

Hi Steve,
No, the union should tighten directly against the float chamber top. When originally produced, the union was peened over slightly on the bottom to prevent it being unscrewed!
