Hi all,
Dougthenoo has posted an interesting advert, and for anyone interested in the introduction of the Mk1 in 1946, we are planning to mark its 70th anniversary in the next publication of the London Douglas Club magazine. (The New Conrod) The content is still in the planning stage but will show several items of interest from 1946. SO   keep a look out for the May/June issue.

Here's the Australian equivalent, from Motor Cycling in Australia, February 1947. Blame the British weather for the late delivery! I wonder if bikes arrived in Australia before they were available on the home market?

Quite possibly as I believe exporting was key as we were very broke after the war. Certainly I know of tales of all Triumph (car and bike) production going to the US at the time.

I had a bit of a look and, despite lots of "it will be worth the wait" advertising during 1947, the "first shipment" of postwar Douglases arrived in Melbourne in September 1947. Shortly after, they were advertised as "in stock" at different places around the country. Not sure when you could buy a Mark Douglas in the UK.

This one comes from Australian Motor Sports in December 1947: "Immediate Delivery".
