Starting Douglas S6
« on: 03 Feb 2016 at 17:42 »
I want to start up my Douglas S6 -30 model year that I bought last fall. The engine was overhal during the 70's and has not been operating since then.
Perhaps there is someone who has some tips.
Is there anything special I should be exercised except that there is oil and gas and the mechanical oil pressure rod will rise 1/4 -5/16 ".
One idea is to remove the oil pressure rod and fill the oil that way to fill up the separate filter housing in the oil sump so that the oil comes earlier to the crankshaft.
