Runny nose?

Came across this picture of a nice example of a 1952 350cc Mk IV HERE and noticed the copper tube stuck up its nostril - another way to cope with the copious oil flow from the breather? - wonder if the oil in this instance is trapped and/or recycled or simply grounded just in front of the rear tyre!?

The colour of the bike is attractive - does anyone know if it was provided as a standard colour?

It is the Douglas polychromatic green.  This was available as an option to the Mark 5 polychromatic blue.  Of 3061 Mark 5s produced, 563 are recorded as leaving the factory green.
