dragonfly (miller) combination switch

Does anyone know the fitting details for the Miller ignition/lighting combination switch,please? I think there must be an 'O' ring involved betwixt the switch and the headlamp nacelle ,but what is not so obvious is what holds it all in place. Any info.much appreciated. Thanks,Ken

I wondered the same with my James headlight switch. It was just pushed in. The indent of the headlamp shell hole acted as a gripper (easy in difficult out). Yours may be the same, but can't guarantee. A lot of easing & wiggling freed mine.

Ken,
       Originally, the switch and ammeter sat in a rubber sleeve with a slight lip on the outside. When I rebuilt my Dragonfly, I cut the ends off a damaged rubber fork gaiter to replicate the sleeves. I also made a couple of small 'L' shaped retaining plates for the switch - one of these needs to be insulated as it fits on the stud that holds the extra terminal used on the Dragonfly.

Thanks Hampshirebiker and Eddie, for your responses.Yes,I thought maybe the two 4BA nuts were possible attachment points for some tabs to secure the switch,with,as you say,Eddie,the neccessity of insulating the nut which is part of terminal no.9 .This terminal's sole purpose is the illuminating bulb for the ammeter,I think,according to my wiring diagram? No I may be wrong about that.Anyway,thanks again both,regards,Ken.

Hi Ken,
            The bulb behind the ammeter is an ignition warning light, and is wired into the primary circuit for the ignition coil. You will find that it is a 2.5 volt bulb wired in parallel with a ballast resistor - the reason being that a bulb on it's own would not pass enough current to provide a reliable spark. Also, without the ballast resistor, bulb failure would also result in ignition failure.
