Mark Rear Chain
« on: 17 Jun 2015 at 17:58 »
Is there a modern equivalent to the Mark chain. The 420 chain seems to be the right dimensions but before I order one can anyone confirm. Alternatively can you still get the old 1/2 inch x .305. Have looked online but can't find any suppliers. Thanks

Roy

Roy,

Renolds currently list four sizes of ‘nominally’ 1/2”x3/16” chains:

Number        Pitch          Inside width   Bush/roller diameter
#111044      0.500”       0.126”            0.305”
#111046      0.500”       0.192”            0.305”
#110044      0.500”       0.205”            0.335”
#110046      0.500”       0.305”            0.335”

With the last being the one I think you want for the Mark.

According to the spares book, the rear chain for all Mark series (excluding Plus and Comp. models) was 1/2 x .305, 116 links, standard sprockets of 19 and 60 teeth.

Hello Red,

If you search for this "JT HDR Motorcycle Drive Chain 428 Heavy Duty Black" on ebay you will get lots of link options. I have used one and it fits standard sprockets.

Cheers
