1914 Rack
« on: 14 Jun 2015 at 18:54 »
Hi All

I am in need of some help with the rack for my 1914 2 3/4.

I have to fabricate a complete rack as all i have is a couple of bits of rusty tube about 4 inches long.

Has anybody a drawing of a 1914 rack with dimension's.

I live in hope

Chris

If you look on the photo guide to Douglas models, my 1913 one is shown, complete with rack. Should that be the sort of rack you are looking for, I can nip out with a tape measure and give you the dimensions.

Hi, Yes that is the rack that i need, enlarged the photos and workrd the sizes out as the rack is as long as the belt rim diameter.
came up with this.

That's a very neat bit of fabrication - well done!

Thought i had better add, I think the stay tubes should be oval with flat sides, didn't have time, will find some or create some when i can and fabricate another rack, in the meantime it will do the job, support the rear mudguard, when i have made that too.
