Of my two kickstart levers, one is broken in two about halfway down, and the other is cracked about 40mm from the splined boss. The lever metal appears rather odd; some sort of forging with the triangular crossection section formed by the lever being folded back on itself. Not a lot of ductility or strength evident. The metal is quite fine grained but whitish, not unlike cast iron.
Thinking about stick welding the broken lever using a straight nickel electrode. Considered brazing the crack using bronze but could be troublesome if it doesn't work out.
Any ideas?
Cheers
