Brakes for TS. What's the difference

Can someone tell me the difference between these two rear brake arms. The black one on the right is off a mates original 1924 bike; and the one on the left came off a frame I picked up years ago, which should have been about the same era. Its frame number is 77617. The bolts and spring for the one on the left are not original but remade.

Hello Ste, on some bikes the lever points up and on some it points down, it looks like one of each in the photo, I don`t know if it specific to a year, regards Jim
