Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

I forgot to attach the other fotos of the CW or SW and EW 350. Is it EW 350 and which year?

Andreas

David Lawrence

Hi Andreas,
Looks like an interesting project!
If you could either publish the frame and engine number it would be a great help for determing  the age, alternatively send me an email directly.

Andreas

Hi Dave,

I will have a look to the numbers and let you know. Do you believe the engine in the two fotos above is an EW 350? The timing cover looks different to them what I know.

Andreas

Doug

Andreas,

The engine in the first two pictures is a 350EW. It was fitted with the optional timing cover of an electric lighting model to mount a BTH pancake dynamo (11-o'clock position to the crankshaft). This and other portions have been machined away, presumably to adapt the engine to a role as a stationary power plant. This seems to be borne out by the non-original flywheel, and extension to the crankshaft on the timing side.

Hi Dave, hi Doug,

Meanwhile I am owner of the TS, which is a 25. Engine No is 71732, original frame No is disappeared. I have another frame with No 1.064 (?), seems to be the same as the original. Are you able to identify the numbers to the year 1925?

Andreas

Doug

Andreas,

From the identification tables found here:

Post:
https://www.douglasmotorcycles.net/index.php?topic=488.msg1451#msg1451
Identification table in post:
https://www.douglasmotorcycles.net/aa-files/html/identify-part1/veteran3.3.htm

You can see that engine #71732 date from 1924. The number ranges are not precise, and should be taken as an approximation.

Andreas

Doug,

Thank you for your kind explanation.
