2.75 hp Barrels

I have been looking at a friends barrels for a model W20 that he is restoring. One of them is badly scored where the gudgeon plug has disappeared and the gudgeon pin has moved. That barrel is already about 50 thou oversize. How much can one bore these out to ?

Also, with the fixed head, how do you set up to bore ? Most modern machines are set up for removable head barrels.

Can these be resleeved ?

I'm sure the barrel could be sleeved Ian - but you will reduce the capacity a bit. Then you would need to source appropriate pistons - possibly JP Pistons could machine some up specially using their 2 3/4 blanks. I would vist Col Sutton at Peak Rebores in Mortdale - he has sleeved barrels for us in the past - and has bored numerous fixed head barrels.
Cheers, Graeme
