Tappet setting T35 Mark 1

Sorry to keep bothering you guys with questions but here is another query.
The books say set the tappets at 0.002" with a cold engine, but when browsing the forum I noticed that someone, I think it may have been Eddie, said to set them at 0.005". What is the current thinking please?
I had the bike running yesterday after a bit of trouble setting a reliable (ish) tick over and took it for a short run. Feels quite nice. Always needs a prod on the ticklers to start even when hot so a carb strip is the next thing on the list.
Happy biking in the sunshine.

Graham,
According to the handbooks, the tappet clearance should be .002" for the T35 Mk1, and .005" for Mk3 - 5 machines, and .025" for the Plus series. (All clearances set with the engine cold).
Regards,
Eddie.
