Those of us who use our 'old' bikes just for the pleasure we get from them, are probably quite happy to tolerate their 'faults', and look upon those faults as 'character'. If we just wanted transport that runs like a sewing machine at the touch of a button and goes from A to B in the shortest time, we would buy a modern plastic rocket. I can see no point in ruining a good classic machine by fitting electronic ignition when the original ignition system can be refurbished at a fraction of the cost. Once reconditioned, a Lucas or BTH magneto will probably outlive the owner!
