Does anyone have the specifications for the oil inlet valve spring for early 2 3/4 engines - Part number 424.   I have tried to order one from the club spares but apparently Jeff Swan is indisposed at the moment.

Have you tried the new Drafts feature yet? I just lost a long message today and learned my lesson. It is a good idea to save a draft of any long post you are writing. You can then just keep writing and keep saving a draft, knowing you have a backup if there is a glitch. The draft is automatically deleted when you post the message.

Hi again,
Does anyone have a definitive answer to how many rubber studs should be put into an aluminium cast footboard? Also should they be domed or flat head (the LMDCC sell both). The pictures I've seen on the internet seem to vary.
I'll be buying the "official" sized ones from the LDMCC.
Thanks again
Richard

Hi Richard
Original specification for 1924 models had footpegs for the TS model and cast alloy footboards for the SW and CW models. Douglas would supply what buyers wanted and it appeared that In Australia they favoured footboards for the TS models as well. If the correct alloy footboards are fitted then they should have 26 rubber pads on each board i.e. 52 in total. Also they should be the domed variety up to the 1926 CW. The EW of 1926/7 has a different cast alloy footboard with only 13 pads each side which should be the flat variety. Hope this helps. Chris.

Wow, that was a fast reply, thanks very much!
I even bought Jeff Clews book to try to see a photo but that didn't work either.
So 52 round top rubber studs it is, pity they are £1.50 each though!
All the best
Richard
