E32 Specification
« on: 30 Mar 2013 at 07:48 »
I have a E32 Airedale (T6) and in the Doug Frost books on the Douglas range, which comprise of Douglas's adverts, it is described as being similar to the Greyhound though fitted with a Touring instead of a Sports engine. The cost new was 2 less than the Greyhound.
I can see that there was a difference in gearing but that would hardly be described as a different engine. Has anyone any idea what the differences were?

Hi ChrisS
I believe that the T engines were produced with cast iron pistons and the S had the lighter ally.
Not sure that this would be the 2 difference.
I guess the price difference takes in to account of the external difference of front suspension, steering damper, head lamp bracket, Handle bar mounting, handle bars throttle control, foot rest / foot boards, tool box rear carrier and rear number plate.
